Concrete pool leak detection

Concrete pools are the iconic pool that we grew up with, and they can last a long, long time if they're well kept.

Unfortunately, during that time they can develop leaks in a number of different places, causing water loss and expensive chemical loss as well.

Causes of leaks in concrete pools

Cracks in the pool shell.

The midwest has great temperature swings, and because of this the ground can expand and contract quite a bit between the summer and winter months. Over time this movement can put strain on your pool shell, causing cracks.

Cracks can also form naturally as the pool ages and the concrete breaks down.

Plumbing connections and deteriorating pipes

Over time the plumbing can shift as the dirt around the pool settles, and puts pressure on the pipes and the fittings.
